Re-Works of the Book Cover

As I was saying previously the reason I through out the old book cover was because it didn't have the right feel for what I wanted to achieve. I also found the concept of having the book and the DVD package together work really well which is why I drew up the large cover piece.

Although one of the issues that was arising throughout discussions with the print company I'll be using, was the accuracy of getting that perfect symmetry on the hardback cover and the problems that could occur with bleed. Because of this I was looking for a way to create a bordered edge in either black or white that would give me a little more control of the print. However since creating the layout of the skate deck, complete with the BTTF logo, just as a test I had a look at how it would work on the book.

The cover actually looked great and solved the above problem. Now I could have a clean black cover with plain backing. The illustrated cover will still be used but now as a sleeved cover. Doing so, now gives me complete control over the symmetry of the image which will remove any difficulties or unexpected issues throughout production of the book.
